After ensuring that the victor of the previous match, Lag Kinzoku, had had plenty of time to rest, the proctor of the Chuunin Exams had set up the first round of the semifinal battles. The lucky Uchiha had gotten a bye in the first round, so the proctor had yet to see his fighting knowledge.
After seeing that Lag was more than capable of multitasking amidst the heat of battle, it was time to put slightly more ease into the battle scene. This battle would take place in Sacred Grove. In their sleep yet again, since this seemed to be an efficient way to get the contestants here at the same time, I brought each contestant and set them on either side of the Heart Tree. The proctor hopped up onto a tree in the border of the clearing that made the grove, and shouted at the contestants to wake them up, "If any damage comes to the small tree in the middle, the one who damages it will get disqualified!" This battle would challenge each ninja to focus on developing a care, at least temporarily, in the middle of battle, forcing them to have to focus their ocular attention to more than their opponent.
This arena was ideal. It was in an open clearing in the forest, roughly a mile in radius, and very flat. The only oddity in the landscape was the small Heart tree in the very center.
"You may begin!"
Lag Kinzoku posts first, due to him posting second in his last fight and Kibou having a bye.
