A Fire Amongst Snow Empty
PostSubject: A Fire Amongst Snow   A Fire Amongst Snow I_icon_minitimeTue Sep 18, 2012 1:22 pm

The village was in a panic. Half of the buildings lining the cluttered streets were burnt down, from only the gods know what. Some fires were still blazing, and some coals were still in embers, and the townsfolk rushed to put them out. I stood in the middle of the main road, my black cloak being whisked about by the constant breezes of cold air flowing through it. The villagers paid little attention to me, despite being masked which would normally arouse suspicion, due to their attention being drawn to the restoring of the village. Construction crews made of volunteers already rushed to construct new homes and businesses for those who had lost them. Even though my presence went unnoticed, I ducked into an alleyway, clinging to the shadows. My mask kept my face warm, and my Sharingan shielded from the stinging air.

I needed to begin my investigation of the cause of this phenomenon. I began scouring the area for the most obvious, simple clues the common eye might look over. Obviously, the jutsu used to destroy this village was made of Katon chakra, due to the buildings being completely scorched and fires still being nearby. That magnitude of strength of fire is only known in one clan.. but the plausibility of what I was thinking was very low, so I would discard that thought for now. Back to the investigation. Distinguishing footprints would impossible because of the constant rabble and running of the citizens here. I would activate the third tomoe of my Sharingan under my mask, because it would more than cover up for the perceptive weakness I held by not exposing one of my eyes. Everything became clearer, time itself seemed to slow, and every detail began to pop out at me. After looking around the block for several hours, I would have to begin searching somewhere else for clues, and I had a good idea of where I would go next.

Reconstruction was going rather well if anything the Tsundorains would have this area rebuilt in no time flat plus a little help from their friendly shinobi seemed to make a difference as well, at times like these we need all the help we could get. Overseeing said reconstruction was none other then Nami Doragonhato, the shimokage himself had made it his self appointed duty to over see and help with the repairs of the village. Nami had his kage attire dawned upon himself and a healthy smile to boot but this smile wouldn't last long. A few ninja appeared before him and whispered some information in his ear before being dismissed and poofing away. Apparently there was a new mysterious stranger in town checking out the view of the village but sadly for him Nami had enough of mysterious foreigners entering his village just to 'see the sights' no there would be no repeat of what happened only days prior to this one.

Nami would began bounding from one rooftop to the next until reaching the strangers position which wasn't far from where Nami just was. Nami eyed him inquiringly trying to determine what this man was it's hard to tell when one covers their face but one thing caught Nami's attention, his eye clearly this was no regular eye this was one of those old KKG of the past the sharingan if he recalled right and this man possessed it. Nevertheless if he had it activated he could be seen as a threat. Jumping down from where he was previously he would land in front of the mask figure his cloak fluttering at his heels as he landed, rising to his full height and towering over the person his kage hat shielding his face from view just as the mask did for the stranger "Hello traveler is there something that you need here?".

Noticing a flicker of motion amongst the rooftops overhead, I immediately snapped my head up to see what was going on, and both hands now rested on the hilt of both my blades. As I zeroed in on the man I saw hopping from rooftop to rooftop, using my Sharingan and enhanced visual perception, I noticed every single detail about him. As the world aroundme was slowed, including him, I had to take this time to figure out who this man was before he got to me. Every single possible plan of action began firing through my head, as I readied myself to devise and enact a strategy based on anything he could throw at me. I narrowed my vision.. closer.. closer... got it. A small hint of curiosity peaked inside of me, "The Shimokage... how entertaining."

Still crouched, I had a hunch as to how he found me. I swiveled my head and looked to the rooftops behind me just in time to see two shadowy figures jump out of sight. "ANBU.. he's been watching me," I thought to myself as I aimed my sight back to the man jumping towards me. I immediately began running through every possible scenario in my head, devising a plan for every course of action that might unfold next. If he had ANBU spying on me, and now he himself was coming to speak to me, it could only mean that he was suspicious of me. Rightly so, I suppose, but that also means that we're already off to a bad start.

For my first strategy, I decided I needed to play this off safe. I began charging chakra into my eyes just in case, with no intent on using them, but if he made a move on me, I would be forced to. I took my hands off of my weapons, and pretended I hadn't seen him. I would not provoke him, as I was just here for information, not for violence. The violence would come much later. With a large string of back-up plans, I was ready for his confrontation before he even got to me. He landed behind me, and asked me if there was anything I needed.

I stood up, and in a polite voice, I responded to him, "Actually, yes. You see, I heard about this.. this incident on the news, and it sparked my curiosity. I came here for myself to see what had happened. You wouldn't happen to know who attacked your village, Shimokage?" I kept my hood up, and my mask on. Even though I was attempting a friendly, civil conversation, I would not by any means reveal my face.

Nami took note of all of his actions you could never be to careful especially when your village gets attacked not even a week ago. He seemed to be more of a planner rather then a heads on fighter so Nami would assume that he had planned out most of his options before he even got here. Nami watched him as he caught a glimpse of his ANBU just as they dashed out of view "yes I've had them patrolling the entire village for more strangers you just so happened to be one of them which is why I'm here now" Nami figured he knew this already but told him anyway. Nami would listen to the stranger's response pondering it for a second before responding himself " You would like to know who attacked me and yet I have no clue about who you are or where you hail from, for all I know you could go off and join that person and return here to attack me and my village again Who's to say" Nami had every right to be suspicious of this character and he would not let his guard down in the slightest.

(OOC: How would your character know whether or not I had plans? God-modding?)

He apparently had noticed me spying his ANBU from atop the rooftops, and decided to address me about the issue. He then went on to explain that he did not intend to tell me whether or not he knew anything in particular about the attack, and guessed that if I knew I would run off to join the attacker. Silly him, making simple assumptions without rhyme or reason. This Shimokage intrigued me. He obviously was a "stab first, ask questions later" kind of man with a short fuse. He had suspicion in me, which I expected, but he was more aggressive with his questioning than I would have guessed. No matter, these variables were all accounted for in my prior planning. I decided to ease the tension, as I did not wish to spark a blood-feud with a whole village at this particular moment. While placing my left hand atop the Oathkeeper just for precautionary purposes, I stuck out my right hand, offering a handshake. Looking him square in the eye and without hesitation, "If you must know, my name is Kebron. I hail from the village of Huoshangakure, and it is a pleasure to meet you, Shimokage."

OOC: Nigga please

The male didn't seem to have any problems with giving out information like that so either he wasn't a threat or he was lying, Nami couldn't really tell seeing how he had a mask covering his face. He stuck his hand out putting up the offer of a handshake, Nami would hesitate at first but would shake his hand staring back at his one visible eye " I wish I could say the same about you Kebron but I don't really know who you are but nevertheless the pleasure is mine. ". Nami would still be on high alert but for now this guy checked out "you say you want to know what happened correct? Well as you can see we were sort of attacked by whom I have no clue but he apparently hails from the village of Arashigakure". Nami would begin walking for he still had to supervise the clean up efforts with a wave of his hand indicating that Kebron should follow.
