Toketsu Shokan Charac10

Toketsu Shokan Person11
First Name: Toketsu
Last Name: Shokan
Gender: Male
Height: 6'3''
Weight: 160 pounds
Age: 29
Birthday: December 5th

Village: Huoshangakure
Rank: Honokage
Elements: Water, Wind, Ice
Specializations: Ninjutsu, Taijutsu, Ijutsu, Kenjutsu

Toketsu Shokan Person12
Personality: Toketsu has always been a calm man who distances himself from others. If someone were to approach him on the streets and address him he would do nothing more than nod to them and continue on his way. He is the type to stay inside he own head, not expressing his ideas outwardly to others unless it was one hundred percent sure to him that he needed help with it or it was absolutely necessary for those around him to know what he's thinking. In combat his personality does not change, he has never been one for teamwork and will not outwardly express his plans to his comrades in battle unless neglecting to tell them could potentially cause them harm. He believes, in combat, that those who are fighting together should simply know what the other is capable of and there should be no need to yell out battle strategies to each other and that it should flow together seemlessly. His views on the world are very basic as well, he believes in the idea of neutrality for his village and for himself, he thinks that because of all the strife and chaos his village has undergone that it needs some time seperated from the affairs of the other areas, focusing only the re-development of the village as its seperate entity instead of an entity in an alliance. Although he does want the village to recover he does not want to be the one to be remembered for doing so, he doesn't want the past kage to be compared to him and possibly ridiculed for doing a negative job, therefore he wears a mask when out in public and goes by a false name but has no shame in showing his true face to anyone he truly trusts. Regardless of his desire to be neutral, as a person he is very generous to those in need and would help anyone in need, all they would have to do is ask.

Likes: Toketsu admires the simple things in life most of all nature. His favorite thing to do is just sit outside and listen to the area around him, take it all in and just be at peace. He also likes a challenge and has been known to start small friendly rivalries with people he is close with, nothing too major but just a little competitive edge to things every once in a while. Lastly he likes his hometown, the village of Huoshagakure, He has lived there almost his entire life and loves it almost more than anything.

Dislikes: His major dislike above all things are people who disrespect those who lead them, the ones that don't realize leaders try their hardest and that they cant give everyone everything, there's no way to make everyone happy. He also dislikes canines, something about them has always just made him uncomfortable and he tries to avoid them usually. Lastly, he doesn't necessarily hate them but has a grudge against the Uchiha, he had a run in with one a few years back that left a few....marks.

Motivation: Motivation to Toketsu is the dream that one day his village will see peace, he wants them to have a time of prosperity after having gone through so much strife and misfortune since its establishment. He wants to be the one to bring this prosperity to them, and protect them from the ongoing struggle outside their walls, he wants to give them some alone time. His personal motivation is that he has retained some traits from his days back in the Anbu and believes that there is no such thing as "strong enough" and that there is always room for personal growth, and constantly tries to achieve that.

Fears: Probably his biggest out of all his fears is that his village and hometown gets destroyed. If that happened he would lost all the work he put in trying to better it, both culturally and economically. He also now has a slight fear of fire after his mishap, it isn't enough to make him freeze in place or lose his focus or anything but he is now much more cautious around it and tries to avoid situations dealing with it.

Toketsu Shokan Histor10
History:
Birth and Early Childhood
It was a day in early december twenty-nine years ago in Huoshagakure, although you probably wouldn't know it as the temperature was still in the upper 70's, and a woman was giving birth to a baby boy, this woman was Toketsu's mother Mizore. She was a caring woman who actually ran an orphanage in the village. She loved children and running the business but was frequently looked upon as a hypocrite because when asked why, if she loved children so much, she didn't adopt some of the children herself she would respond with that she thought the bond between mother and child was special to her and that although she would try her hardest to find loving parents for the children, that if she adopted them she wouldn't be able to give them the proper love they deserve. She pledged to not get married while still working at the orphanage until one day a beast attacked her and the children there. It was a tall creature, probably around 10-16 feet tall with arms that went down to the floor and long claws at the end of each hand and it looked as though it was wearing a suit. But the most alarming part of the beast was the fact that it didn't have a face. Mizore couldn't tell if the monster was actually just a mutated human or actually a monster, her wonders were put to rest when the beast sprouted 4 tentacles out of its back about 6 feet long. Mizore tried her hardest to defend the children, taking them to safe spots planted throughout the orphanage. Unfortunately, she was unable to defend one of the children, a little boy who loved her enough to try and stand up to the beast with nothing more than a kitchen knife. The little boy nicked him once on one of his long arms, the creature drew its arm back and aimed its ivory faceless head at the child, then with no remorse and as swift as a falcon helplessly killing a mouse it stabbed all five of its claws on its right hand into the child and lifted him into the air, draining the life out of him. The creature pulled the body off of its claw and let it fall to the floor, lifeless. This sent Mizore into a rage and caused her to charge at the beast bare handed and began flailing into it. The monster grabbed her leg with one of its hands and help her helplessly upside down and began clawing at her right side, it was almost certain that she would be killed if it weren't for a ninja who overheard the commotion inside the building. It was a jounin of the village named Attakai Shokan.

He busted through the doors and at the sight of the beast drew his light blue katana and sprinted at the monster and cut off two of its tentacles on its back. He then slid under its legs and cut the arm holding Mizore enough to cause the monster to drop him. It apparently noticed the threat that was before him and retreated, it was never seen in the village again although rumors are it has moved on into another village. After that encounter Mizore had scars up and down her entire right side for the remainder of her life, but also from that happening she gained her husband Attakai Shokan. Now, we go forward a bit to find the family, Toketsu is a rambunctious little scamp about 5 years old. He's a spitting image of his father with the exception of one thing, his left eye. For some reason that anyone has yet to explain his eye is completely white no pupil, no iris, no anything only white. He can see perfectly fine with it but his parents, for fear of him being ridiculed, rose him to think wearing an eye patch over his eye was natural. He was rose normally and lovingly by his parents, brought up to love his village and its people and that the kage would protect them no matter what happened to them. Slowly they could tell his views were being morphed to that of a proper ninja, wanting to defend his kage, and longing to do nothing more than defend his people. Now his physical abilities were a bit strange, it didn't run in his family line to anybody's knowledge but it seemed to just be there, like it was natural for him, the story of the little childs ability goes like this... Toketsu was walking through the dead forest in the village on a hot summer day. He had managed to get away from his parents after they removed their eyes from him for no more than a few seconds. He continued walking, smiling and laughing without a care in the world but grew tired and found a dead stump to sit on. He sat there simply listening to the sounds of the area, there weren't many because of the area being torched, but it was still nice. Eventually the boys fatigue got the best of him and he fell asleep, curled up on the stump he was laying on, being too overly trusting of the world around him. He awoke to a growling sound and in front of him was what seemed to be a wolf that hadn't eaten anything in days. It circled around the stump, licking its chops and constantly growling. Toketsu was petrified by fear and didn't know what to do, tears came to his eyes as he sat in this supposedly hopeless situation. For what seemed like an eternity the beast continued to circle around him, like a vulture around an unfortunate dying traveler in the desert, until finally it let out one loud bark and lept forward towards Toketsu. He stuck his arm outwards in desperation in an attempt to defend himself and screamed as loud as he could. When he did this he felt a sensation of energy course from the center of his body and along his arm and once it hit his hand shot out in the form of an ice crystal that pierced the wolfs heart and causing it to fall to the ground with a yelp, dead. He had no idea what he had just done and panicked running back to his parents telling them what had just occurred.

Academy and Samurai War Arc
After this instance both of Toketsus parents realized the great talent and potential within their son. Without a second thought they admitted him into the academy in the village. Toketsu excelled in all aspects of the academy, his Ice ninjutsu being the primary focus of both the teachers and other students alike. He continued his way through the academy, doing all the basic jutsu examinations and passing with flying colors. Not only did the young boy excel in combat, he was very social with the other students always opting to help them, and it was this aspect that made the others over look the eye patch over his left eye, which they just assumed to be a physical deformity and didn't pry any deeper into it. At the age of 13 it was time for Toketsu to take the examinations to graduate from the academy. He entered the building with full confidence in his ability to pass and walked forward to his first test, the three basic jutsu all ninja must know. He flawlessly pulled of the Transformation jutsu, Clone Jutsu, and Substitution jutsu and was instantly entered into the second part of the exam, the physical test to see his prowess in taijutsu and overall fitness. The overall fitness test was again a breeze for Toketsu as he tried to lead a healthy lifestyle, but the taijutsu was slightly more difficult as he had to spar someone, also in his class, who was thought to have been the best in the area of taijutsu. Toketsu put up a valiant effort getting in multiple heavy blows but ultimately lost the dual. The examiner decided though that because of how close the fight was Toketsu would continue on anyway. The final part of the exam was a mental test, pretty much the boring pen and paper writing exam. This was rather easy for him as well as he always studied what he was told and devoted it all to memory and only 10 minutes after the written exam began Toketsu was turning his in. When the exams finished it was decided that because of his prowess in most of the categories that he would become a genin of the village and was assigned a squad.

Then a situation arose, he was alerted by his sensei that there was an impending war with a group of samurai that wished to control the village and that they all must do their part in protecting the kage, and to do so the genin fresh out of the academy would have to go to the front lines along with everyone else. Toketsu was scared, his first experience in combat that wasn't moderated by teachers around him and it had to be a war? He thought about just running from the village all together but then heard his fathers voice ringing through his head, it was something he was told many years ago "Abandoning a village is the biggest insult one can impose on their kage and fellow villagers, It would be less insulting to make an attempt on their lives." This small phrase is all it took, his kage was trying his hardest to defend their village and the least he could do is assist by fighting side by side with his brothers on the battlefield. So he went, fully geared and prepared to fight anyone who threatened his village. He stood nearly on the front line, around him many people he recognized from the academy and many more that he had never spoken to in his entire life. Soon the opposing army was in sight and the entire brigade charged forward, like a tsunami preparing to topple and entire village. They all waged battle with each other for what seemed like days, the hours seeming to just mix together in the flurry of sights and sounds accompanied by the battlefield. Toketsu made his first kill in the war, and his second, then third, and eventually all of the kills just blended together. Toketsu took no heed to the fact he had just killed someone for the first time and aimed only to defend his village regardless of cause. It was probably somewhere around midnight when him and a colleague he had been fighting aside the entire war were confronted by a rogue uchiha from the very village they were attempting to protect. The uchiha had favored the views of the samurai and decided to defect in order to help them. Toketsu was seriously angered by the disloyal behavior this man had against his home and charged at him without a second thought. His friend had joined into the fray and the fight waged on for a few hours, the flurry of Ice and Fire jutsu capable to be seen from very far way. This was when Toketsu got one of the most prominent marks in his life. The uchiha, attempting to finish both him and his partner launched a giant fire ball at the two of them. Toketsu had used most of his chakra and was incapable of creating a suitable ice jutsu to counter act the ball, so he did what he could to save his friend. He grabbed his friend and threw him to the left and after seeing he landed safely he attempted to avoid the blast himself but was unable to move fast enough, his entire right side was engulfed in flame. Toketsu yelled out in pain and set his sights on the man in front of him who was obviously worn out and out of chakra. Still ablaze Toketsu charged at him with a kunai in his burning hand, adrenaline being the only thing keeping him going. He lept into the air and like a fiery comet slammed into the uchiha driving the kunai deep into his heart. They both fell to the ground, one of them dead. Still glowing with flame Toketsu began to slip into unconsciousness and seriously believed this was where his life was going to end. He passed out, but the friend he had saved, being a master of water jutsu, put out the flames engulfing Toketsu. He then carried the boy 8 miles to the closest tent and after reaching it passed out himself. Both of them received first aid but it was decided that they were unfit for the service now and would be honorably sent home.

Recovery and Intense Training
After being in a coma for at least a week he awoke in the hospital. The instant his eyes opening the most intense pain he had ever felt in his life shot through his entire right side. He couldn't believe he had failed the kage, his village, everyone; he would've much rather have died on the battle field then survive and never be able to fight again. He thought over what he had to do, he would never abandon this village but it was obvious that they found him useless and incapable of fighting now, so he would have to leave just long enough to recover and then return to show he could truly help them all. He rolled out of his hospital bed and fighting the intense pain running through him lept from the window unto the roof of the next one and continued on until he hit the edge of the village. He looked back and couldn't help but cry a little, he would be back to his home, and when he did he would never leave it again. So there he was, a 14 year old boy critically injured out in the wild on his own prepared to do anything to get better. For two years he could do nothing more than basic push ups with his left arm and sit ups. He also developed his own type of therapy using his ice jutsu where he would encase his right side in a layer of it, his own type of cold therapy. He had intercepted news that they had won the war but at the cost of their kage. This saddened him deeply but all it did was give him more drive to better himself and return to protect them. This news caused him to ditch his old workout regimen and move on to something more strenuous. He then began doing push ups with both of his arms and a fallen tree on his back and was now capable of doing push-ups with his right arm alone if he had nothing on his back. His training got increasingly stronger over the course of 4 years and by the time he hit the age of 20 he had reached peak performance, being capable of lifting trees as heavy as 300 lbs with his right arm alone. The pain and weakness in that side may have left him but the scarring he realized would be there forever, as a permanent sign that there is no such thing as a career ending injury and would be his motivation to always get stronger.

After his recovery he decided to start trying to build more on his ice release and develop jutsu that could make him a force to be reckoned with on the battlefield. For 4 years he continued to study up on his release and research ways it could be used and soon had an arsenal of ice jutsu capable of bringing the strongest of jounin to their knees before him. At the age of 24 he decided that he had to somehow associate with people again and left the islands his home was located on and entered the village of Arashigakure, a rainy little village that was interesting to visit to say the least. He looked probably like a beggar to most of them as he kept an unkempt blanket around him at all times to conceal his scarred side as well as his eye patch over his white eye. He had to do something to make himself seem more approachable but also conceal his scarring and his true identity. He wandered into a clothing store and bought a dark blue robe which he threw over his clothes but kept his blanket around his head to prevent his face from being seen. He then crafted for himself a mask, a mask that was modeled after the look of his white eye that he would wear everywhere as the protection of his identity from the people of his village when he returned. He dawned his outfit for the first time and removed the eye patch from his eye, revealing through the small eye hole the mark that had been hidden from everyone his entire life, but they would have no clue to whom it belongs. As he was leaving the village he overheard the villagers speaking about the second Honokage being killed by his son and preceded by him. This angered him greatly, not only was it wrong on the part of him attacking his protector and leader but also the person who had loved him and called him son. His village was going to hell, they needed him, and soon.

Final Preparations and Return
I realized after overhearing this that the village not only needed me to return, but needed me to lead it, to help them into a time of personal growth and prosperity instead of the grief and misfortune they had endured their entire history. He spent the next five years rigorously training more than he had ever before to get himself to a strength that the people would be confident to give the name "Kage" He was now a 29 year old, fully rehabilitated from his injury and trained to the point that there were very few people in the world capable of matching his strength. He also planned out an entire speech to give the current Honokage to get him to relinquish the position over to him. He may have disliked the way this kage had attained power but he was still the Honokage, and had to be treated respectfully by his villagers. After having everything set he began to head back to the village. After a few days of travel he reached the village only to find that it was again being attacked by a group consisting of no more than 4 people. They must have been strong to be able to get into the village all by themselves but he wouldn't allow them to just destroy his home. He would go to them and try to get them to leave diplomatically and only use violence if completely necessary. This was his first step into assisting his village, the first step to getting them peace, the first action of the fourth Honokage.

RP Sample:
I entered the door behind my kage and sensei, into what seemed to be the absolute bottom of culinary establishments. The smell of burnt meat, terrible seasoning combinations, and most importantly, passion. I could tell just from being in this place that the chefs here were the type to just do this to scrape by in their pathetic lives, no love for the art, and no intent to give the people the best they could supply just the bare minimum.

Now, I knew I couldn't come anywhere near respecting the chefs of this establishment, but the women, they were a sight to see. Just a sight and nothing more because even I knew if I tried to do anything with these women I would contract so many illnesses that my blood would turn acidic, and not from the boil release chakra running through me. I followed my kage through the sea of failure and shame until we hit the attractive bartender, Skar spoke with her and then looked back at me and I said "We getting out of here? The scent of this place is making even ME lose faith in the culinary art." I laughed half-heartedly and waited for him to respond, or continue on in which I would follow.

If I remember correctly, Kage need two staff approvals to get started. So here I am.

Unfortunately, I don't have an approval stamp on here yet, so..

Approved.
