| A man clad in black walked through the village, a gray cloth wrapped around his waist and a yellow and red hilt on his side, holstered much like a gun. He was thin, and pretty tall. His expression was that of sheer boredom, and as he walked he sighed a lot. Yet he seemed to know where he was going, and as he walked he pulled out a scroll, and opened it. The scroll had black paper with an obsidian spine, and in blood-red ink was the offical seal of the Honokage, and seemed to be a summon. As he read it he let out a huge sigh. It was obvious that this man hated to do any type of work, and apparently what he had just read would be just that: work. The man began to walk out of the village and towards the forest surrounding it. As he walked he wiped his face, and saw that it was covered in sweat. It seemed this mission would be a serious work out. He walked toward the entrance of the forest, and he looked up, to see a wooden sign charred black by the constant heat, and in beautiful white letters read: Saltus Vaporis Under the sign was a shinobi of Huoshangakure. He was on the shorter side, yet was lean and muscular. His face was quite round, and had a big bulbous nose with thick nose hairs hanging out. He was bald, and had a thick mustache that ran down his face, and stuck to his skin with the sweat. He looked quite old. He wiped his brow of the thick sweat droplets that were constantly forming as the hot steam rose to the sky. As he saw the man he spoke, his voice a bit hoarse as it seemed his voice might have been dry. "You Vaughn?"The man nodded, and the gentleman continued to speak. "Alright, so you know what you have to do right? You need to run the track laid out for you, and you cannot stop. We have camera posted at increments and if you stop you will fail. Now, if I were you, I'd take off that over coat. It gets a bit tiring in there."The man sighed, and began to take off his coat and shirt. This was going to suck. | |

| Vaughn sighed as he stood under the sign, wearing nothing but his black sweatpants and running shoes. His body was pale, a common sight in the ash covered village of Huoshangakure. His body glistened with sweat as the steam heated his body. Vaughn, however, kept his hat on. He took a running stance, ringing the golden ring that was attached to the side, and closed his eyes. He waited for the other shinobi to speak.
"Alright. Ready. Set. GO!!"
Vaughn broke into a fast sprint, running through the steaming forest, already sweat dripping from his lanky, yet lean, body. His long legs aided him as he traversed great distances with each long stride, which would mean his time running should be short. However, he began to breath heavy; The steam was both a tiring and relaxing mist.
Vaughn had been running for about ten minutes. His lungs were burning, and so was his eyes as the sweat dripped in. He wiped his face, his hand also covered in sweat. This was a sort of small hell. The constant heat, the constant sweating. Vaughn was getting a bit angry, angry at himself for taking this mission. As he walked the ground under him began to rumble, and soon the sound of earth breaking rang throughout the forest, and a low hiss could be heard. Vaughn looked down and could see a thick white smoke emanate from the crack that formed under him. He continued to run but covered his face and the steam exploded out. Vaughn ran faster, his skin turning red and on the verge of blistering. This run was simple, yet still took its toll on his body.
Vaughn had completed the 3 mile run in 15 minutes. He took his time a bit as he ran, slowing down when the steam got to him. When he came out his whole upper body was a bit red, and blisters were starting to form on his fore arms. He came back to the sign, and got his clothes. The shinobi was still there.
"Hey man, good run! You pass"
Vaughn was not very ecstatic. He just turned around and left, wanting to take a nice freezing cold bath.
